Checked back in the library. From NC Genealogy Reference (By Draughon & 
Johnson) 975.6  D767n2 ***Item #117 WILLIAM SUGGS born 1791, wife 
ELIZABETH ?  [I'm not sure of county]  When I checked, I just looked at 
date.  It might have been in Edgecombe Co. but I'm not certain.  They 
may have not even shown it.

Here's a few more extracts from NC Genealogy Reference by Wallace R. 
Draughon 1956 - 975.6. This may have been a different publication from 
the earlier one.

Blvd., Bellaire, TX.  Rev. Theophilus Skinner b. 1785 Prequimans Co, 
wife Mary Pitts, who moved to SC, to KY, to AL.  [I assume they both

HABARD (HARBERT)  There are two each, CHARLES & JOHN.  These shown on
petitions, etc.  No wills or deeds.////

JOHN SKINNER wit in 1769, wit again in 1777 (this proven by him also). 
Names are EZRA BOSTICK, JAMES SMITH, WM. THOMAS. ////

JOHN SKINNER wit in 1774 for SOLOMAN GROSS to ISAAC ARMSTRONG (none
familiar).  JOHN SKINNER must have held some official capacity, he is 
name appears  frequently./////

LUKE ROBERTSON and wife to john ________, deed, proved by JOHN SKINNER 
[I think this was 1774].///////

7-13-1774 - JOHN SWOR and wife to JOHN SKINNER, deed, proved by SOL. 
GROSS.////

7-15-1774 - pg 130 Ct Minutes THOMAS HURLEY to TIMOTHY HURLEY, by JOHN

1-20-1775 - pg 240,  JOHN SKINNER & JAMES ALLEN, among others, are 
buyers at sale of estate of HENRY CHAMBERS.///

1-14-1777 - JAMES ALLEN was a justice in Anson.///

1-14-1777 - pg 178 - EZRA BOSTICK to JAMES SMITH, by JOHN SKINNER.////
same date - JOHN SWOR  to JAMES SMITH, by JOHN SKINNER.////  Same date, 
same page:  Ord that JOHN SKINNER be one of three constables///

An ANTHONY HOLLAND is found on a petition.////

[Except for those shown in the SUGG deed to RANDULPH above, I find no THOMAS
FRANKLINS or JAMES ATTAWAYS in Anson Co.]  [I have a few Suggs from 
here to send but will wait a bit to send.  I may have photocopied 
these, and if so, there may be a little more info than what I jotted

From Bertie Co. Ct. Minutes - by Haun (1740-1762),  (1763-1771) and 
(1772-1780). I find these in all of the above books.   HOLLANDS:  
ABRAM, DEMSEY, HENRY, JOSEPH, MARY, SOWELL, THEOPHILUS, & WILLIAM.   
Also a FREDERICK HOLLON and a JOHN SKINNER.///  I find a THOMAS HOLLAND 
in the 1763-1771 book only.////

From Ct Min (1740-1762)   Oct. 24, 1758 - JOHN GREY to WM FREEMAN, 
proved by
oath of JAMES ALLEN.  [Here I lose sight of it but following are shown 
for some reason].  These are all SKINNERs:  CHARLES, HANNAH, JOHN, 
NICHOLAS, BENJAMIN, HENRY, THOMAS, & WILLIAM.

On "Ester, Dau. of Lott & Prudance Maund, borne ye 15th Feb 1752."  I 
told you it came from McIntosh, but have been hard put to find it 
again.  If he doesn't have another book then maybe I found it 
elsewhere.  I will try to find this again.

I glanced over your msg sent earlier this evening but haven't spent 
much time on it yet.  I noticed WILLOUGHBY.  I have some notes I took 
the other day from Princess Ann Co, VA (Land and Probate Records).  It 
includes MAUNDS, WILLOUGHBYS, CATONS, SUGGS, and ALLENS, but I will 
hold these for another night.  It is near two am.

Oh, one other thing, we were talking about the people that paid taxes 
in Pitt Co. and I had mentioned the middle initial of CHARLES ALLEN as 
possibly being "S."  The book I went through the other day, NC 
Taxpayers, does not appear to be the same one that I had seen earlier. 
 I photocopied these pages (not trusting my handwriting this time).  In 
this book it is shown as "Charles  s.  Wm   FWV  1771."  Now I take 
this to mean: Charles, son of William Allen.  So we can discount the 
middle name of Sugg and as him being son of our JACOB ALLEN.  But there 
other Charles listed though I don't see any from Pitt Co.  I'll put 
some of these together along with some of the SUGG listed.

It is now after two and now I will shut it down.  Gotta be up at 6:30.
