After Walter died, Genevieve had little money and worked hard. She worked at places such as Joseph Magnun's and Hastings. She moved to Sacramento for three months so that Gail could go to U.C. Davis. She then moved back to Marin County, to 270 Johnstone Drive in San Rafael (Marinwood). At this point she was still struggling to make ends meet by cleaning other peoples' homes. In 1975, feeling great sympathy for her hard life, her daughter Gail treated her to a cruise to Mexico for her birthday.
She later met Harold John YAGER through a friend, Irene WILSON, who lived near Harold. They were introduced and they later married on 5 December 1981 in San Rafael (Terra Linda).23 They lived together for a few years at Harold's house at 270 Arias Street, but they eventually split up, living at different houses, though they are were still married and see saw each other weekly. Genevieve lived with the TRIMBLEs at 731 Montecillo Road for a few years in the 1980s before she got her own place at 53 Livingston Court in Novato (Lanham Village, Hamilton Air Force Base), Marin County, CA. In the late 1990s Harold went to a retirement home in Santa Clara County, CA, where he died on 12 February 2000.
Harold YAGER was born 21 January 1920 in San Francisco, CA, the son of John Charles YAGER and Amelia DUENWALD. John Charles YAGER was born in Leydon, Holland, on 11 February 1877, the son of Jacob YAGER and Hilda DeBAR. John had several sisters: Lyda Margaret (m. Peter THOMPSON), Wilhelmina "Lena" (m. JICHA), Josephine, Margaret (m. MULREADY), and Annie YAGER (m. Carl WILSON). There was a brother too, but he died young from drowning and his name is unknown.
Amelia DUENWALD was born in San Francisco on 28 April 1897, the daughter of Fred DUENWALD and Augusta Schmidt REIMAR. Amelia had at least two brothers: William (m. Anna Marie) and Oscar Edward DUENWALD.
Amelia and John were married 11 January 1919 in San Jose, Santa Clara County, CA. Besides Harold they also had a son John Charles "Buddy" YAGER Jr., born 25 April 1921 in San Francisco. Buddy married Glenola THOMAS and had two children John Charles YAGER III and Janet Marie YAGER. He remarried to Maureen Anne HAYES.
John Charles YAGER was a baggage man for Southern Pacific Railroad. He died 28 July 1929 in San Francisco and is buried at Cypress Lawn in Colma. His wife Amelia remarried on 4 May 1936 to Edwin Astoria HERZINGER, born 19 November 1891 in Redding, Shasta County, CA. He died 19 June 1960 in Oakland and Amelia died 6 May 1969 in San Francisco.
Harold YAGER was a Marine and served in World War II where he did aerial photography and played saxophone in the Marine Band. He married first to Hazel Myrtle FLETCHER, born 10 March 1910 in Denver, Denver County, CO, the daughter of Cyril FLETCHER and Lillian YARBERRY. They were married in San Francisco on 15 May 1945. They had two sons Robert Alan YAGER (b. 19 August 1947) and Gary John YAGER (b. 21 May 1954). Hazel died of a heart attack on 20 April 1980 in Mill Valley, Marin County, CA.
Bob YAGER married in August 1972 to Lynn KURNICK and had an adopted daughter Jennifer Lynn YAGER, born 19 March 1980 in Oakland, Alameda County, CA. After their divorce, Bob married Marion Elizabeth TITUS on 28 November 1987 in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County, CA. Marion, born 10 November 1957 in Akron, Summit County, OH, was the daughter of Walter Monroe TITUS and Margie Ann JONES. By a previous marriage Marion had a daughter Leila Shaleen MOTACI, b. 15 August 1981 in Mountain View, Santa Clara County, CA. Bob works as a financial advisor and Marion is a court reporter.
On 16 June 1989 in Las Vegas, Clark County, NV, Gary YAGER married Patricia Ann LAMBRIGHT (b. 4 August 1950 Orange, Orange County, TX), daughter of Lloyd LAMBRIGHT and JoAnn Lorraine EVERTON. Pat had three children by a prior marriage: Rebecca Ann FISK (b. 11 Dec 1970 Houston, Harris County, TX), Angelia Faye FISK (b. 31 Aug 1972 Houston, Harris County, TX), and Robbie Michelle FISK (b. 31 Jul 1978 Pasadena, Harris County, TX). Angelia married Glen Ray SHEPPARD on 28 Aug 1993 in Pasadena, Harris County, TX.
